Great Bay Athletic Club Contract Tennis Policies

What is Contract Tennis Time?

Contract tennis is a way for a Great Bay Athletic Club member to guarantee he or she will have a court (or courts) reserved for the playing time they want every week.

Why should I book a Tennis Contract?

Without contract time, the court you want can only be booked 7 days in advance. If you forget to book, it may not be available since all available courts are booked on a first come, first served basis.

What are the policies governing Tennis Contracts Time?

1.     Tennis contracts can only be booked by an individual member. That member accepts responsibility for payment of the contract and for adhesion to the policies listed below.

2.     Summer Contract time will be offered during the 16 week period beginning on May 20, 2006. Contract time must be a minimum of 12 weeks.

3.     Winter Contract time will be offered during the 38 week period beginning on September 10, 2006. Contract time must be a minimum of 36 weeks.

4.     Any available court time is eligible for Contract Time.

5.     All persons playing under a Tennis Contract must be members. Subs may be non-members but they will need to pay a guest fee. A list of all members in a contract group should be submitted at time of booking.

6.     Contract Tennis must be paid for, in full, at the time it is booked. If the contract is continuous (example: holder of a summer contract booking the same time for winter) than payment is due on the last week of the current running contract. If payment is not received, the contract will not be recorded and the court will not be reserved.

7.     Contract tennis cannot be paid for with GBAC$.

8.     Groups holding Contract Time will have right of first refusal for that slot for the next contract (example: a group holding a contract for the winter will have first refusal for the summer). If the group holding the court does not renew, the slot will be offered on a first come, first served basis.

9.     Once a group reserves a Contract Time under the right of first refusal, they will be responsible for payment of the Contract Time, even if the group decides to cancel the Contract Time.

10.            Contracted courts not used are not eligible for refund. If the court is not available due to the fault of GBAC, an extra week of court time will be added to the end of the contract.

11.            The fall contract will run for the first 36 available play dates. Each contract will receive a confirmation with a calendar indicating the play dates. If you wish to skip any dates marked on the calendar, you must submit the revised calendar to the front desk prior to the start of the contract. Once the contract has commenced, no changes will be permitted.

12.            Summer contracts are offered at 50% of the prevailing court fees for the court time chosen. Winter contracts are offered at the prevailing rate for the court time chosen.
