Yoga Class Descriptions

Flex and Flow

This multi-leveled class will combine different styles of yoga, linking movement with the breath through a flowing sequence of postures. This mind body work-out features cardiovascular benefits as well as strength, flexibility, balance and relaxation. Modifications and props may be used to help each student access each pose.  All levels of experience are welcome.

Power Flow

This class offers a rigorous flow of Asanas, synchronizing breath with movement.  Power flow uses the Ashtanga primary series as framework.  Each class provides variation and emphasizes a focus, leading to a cleansed body and purified mind.  Power flow is open to those who seek a challenging practice.

Form and Flow

Form and Flow yoga is a moderate level practice with emphasis on the needs of the "continuing student".  The focus will be moving into intermediate Asanas, refining body alignment, working with Pranayama (breath techniques), and the "energetics" of poses.

Strength and Rejuvenation

Emphasizing strength, proper form, and Pranayama (breath techniques) in the Asanas, this class is open to all practitioners.  Each students various abilities and limitations are deeply respected, and modifications will be offered encouraging the practitioner to find the "best pose for their body".

Mind Body Flow

The tools of body awareness, breath and intuition are used to understand the connection between the body, mind and spirit. Flowing from posture to posture to gain flexibility of the body and mind, sustaining postures to gain strength of the body and mind, breathing to create energy within the body and focus of the mind, and  relaxation to allow further understanding of the connection between the body, mind and spirit. A general knowledge of postures is helpful but not required. All levels are welcome.

Relaxation/Meditation is included in all classes.
